St. Francis of Assisi
Dear Hearts,
Isn't it ironic how much time we invest in a new friendship or business relationship yet how often we take our closest relationships for granted? Then we wonder what happened…how did we grow apart? The close relationships that we have are so precious, yet often it is those very relationships that get neglected and then we awaken one day and those we love and cared for the most have either gone away or become strangers to us.
Take the example of our garden; if we took our gardens for granted and never watered or weeded, eventually it would die. The same hold true for our relationships. What we neglect withers and eventually dies.
How can we nurture our close relationships? Perhaps we can begin by treating those close to us with more loving kindness or telling them how much we love them, not saying it by rote... but saying it straight from our heart. Maybe we can authentically share with them how important they are in our lives. Our closest relationships are our greatest gifts..and our greatest challenges. Without our love, care, and kindness these precious relationships fade away, become indifferent or disappear completely.
Today, let's nurture those closest to us so that love can grow, blossom and unfold...thus allowing love to bring forth its great and glorious gifts.
With love and blessings,
Rev. Barbara

John-Roger
Dear Hearts,
John Rogers quote is certainly a challenge to all of us. Sometimes, we get to a certain point in our lives and we become stagnant and complacent. Our thought process might be, “Why rock the boat”?
However, life isn’t about complacency. If we’re twenty yet complacent in our lives, we’ve grown old. If we’re 100 and still learning and growing, we’ve remained young.
What is it we want from our lives? Do we want to live our lives in such a way that each day is “ho-hum”…just another day to get through? Or do we want to live our lives in such a way that each day becomes a growth opportunity…an adventure? Do we want success in our jobs? Do we want success in our relationships? Do we desire greater and deeper spiritual endeavors? Then we must do whatever is necessary to grow that success.
We are here to keep on keepin’ on no matter what! We’re here to reflect the glory of God through our daily living and we can’t do that if we’re stagnant. We live in a Universe whose essence is growth (just look at nature). So when we become stagnant in our lives, we are out of harmony with a Universe that is daily offering us an invitation to grow or go.
Grow or go…today which will it be?
With love and blessings,
Rev. Barbara

Wayne Dyer
Dear Hearts,
How often do we compare ourselves with others and find ourselves loosing the comparison? We compare our looks, our money, our family, our possessions, our spiritual growth…but for what purpose? Each of us is on our own spiritual journey and what someone else does or is or has accomplished is none of our business.
Our business is to keep our eyes focused on ourselves. It’s not about being better than another person. It’s about being better than we were yesterday, or a year ago, or a decade ago. Our job is to be the best we can be and it’s none of our business what goes on with another.
It is said that comparison is metaphysical death. It keeps us from seeing and appreciating what we’ve done…because we’re to busy looking outside of ourselves at somebody else.
Today, let’s look at our lives. Are we better today than we were yesterday or last week or ten years ago? If our answer’s yes, than we know that we’re right on target. It’s always easier to chart someone else’s development or lack of it. But that’s not our job. Let’s allow others to take care of their own growth and keep our eyes focused on ourselves.
With love and blessings,
Rev. Barbara
