On living life to the fullest...

“I know a lot of people who are so afraid of dying that they end up afraid to live. So afraid of failure that they end up failing to try. It makes you ask the question, what's worse? Living an unlived life, or dying a lived one? We know what (Steve) Irwin's answer would have been.”
Mary Beth Crain

Dear Hearts,

As the world mourns the loss of Steve Irwin, let’s think about the beautiful legacy he left to each of us.

One of the things that attracted us to Irwin was his enthusiasm…his wonderful excitement for life and for the work he was doing. In our own lives, we may not wrestle actual live crocodiles or be bona fide wildlife conservationists, however in each of our lives we have crocodiles appearing all the time…and they come in the form of our daily challenges. Perhaps today instead of dreading our challenges, we can approach them with enthusiasm, imagining ourselves wrestling the challenges down and calling them what they really are, “Growth Opportunities”.

While to the world, we may not be considered conservationists…within our own life we get to be just that. We get to conserve our precious resources, we get to care for and nurture Mother Earth, we get to love and nurture our pets.

Today, we have the opportunity to remember we have a divine appointment with Life, and that each challenge we face is a GO…a Growth Opportunity. We get to be conservationists of our resources, our land and our pets.

And as we live our lives in such an exuberant manner, can’t we all hear Steve Irwin say to us, “Way to go mate…great job”!

With love and blessings,

Rev. Barbara
