Moving on with our life

"LET'S ROLL"
Todd Beamer

Dear Hearts,

I believe there are times when we have all experienced being stuck in a state of inaction. Perhaps we just don't want to do something. or we are so overwhelmed by a task we don't know where to start, so we don't. However, when we get stuck, that part of our life stops. Life is constantly calling us to move forward because it is a progressive Universe. When we are caught in confusion, doubt or fear and become immobilized, we are out of sync with our fundamental purpose to grow and become. Sometimes, just a few words can be the trigger to inspire us to get moving again. Todd Beamer's uttered such words on that fateful Flight #93, September 11 1991. His words are a call and challenge to all of us.

If we are stuck today, whether in our duties at work, home or relationship...let's allow Todd Beamer's fearless and action filled words inspire us. Today, let's let our mantra be "LET'S ROLL." And so it is.

Love and blessing,

Rev. Barbara

Moving toward our dreams...

"We followed our dreams, because dreams are all we had. In the process, our lives became magical."
Sigfried and Roy

Dear Hearts,

Often times when we were growing up we were told to stop "dreaming", that this was the "real world"...and many times we did exactly that. We grew up and went ahead with our lives in the "real world", but whatever became of our dreams?

In these last hazy days of summer, what a perfect time to revisit our dreams. What was it that that you as a young girl or boy dreamt about? Whatever that dream was, start moving toward it now. It's never too late! Grandma Moses began painting (fulfilling a life time dream of hers) at age 75. So if it's painting that's calling you -- just do it! Sky diving -- go for it! Writing the great American novel -- begin it now! Exploring the world of poetry -- today's the day. Cooking classes, enroll now.

It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks ~ this is about us fulfilling our dreams because they're still alive and vibrant in our hearts. Our dreams haven't gone anywhere. They simply have been waiting for us to return, to get in touch, remember and finally make them our reality.

With love and blessings,

Rev. Barbara

A God worthy to be praised

"Man was created to praise, reverence and serve the Lord his God."
St. Ignatius

Dear Hearts,

St. Ignatius tells us we are created to praise God. Perhaps we might do so by looking at our lives and all the good we have and all the gifts there are..beginning with the very breath we breathe. Everything is a gift from God. The psalms tell us that God is a "praiseworthy God". Let's do exactly that...let's praise and admire God's handiwork throughout this day.

St. Ignatius speaks of "reverence" for God. The dictionary tells us that a synonym for reverence is "honor". During the ages, the great saints and avatars have told us that our bodies are a temple of the living God. Today, how might we eat, care and nurture our bodies in such a way that we would truly reverence our bodies as temples of the living God?

In the third part of the equation, St. Ignatius tells us to serve the Lord, our God. We have the opportunity to do that by recognizing each and every person as an expression of the One Life of God. So our question might be, "Today, how might I serve those whose paths cross mine"? Knowing that as we serve others, we are truly serving the Lord our God.

With love and blessings,

Rev. Barbara
